I LOVE LOVE LOVE this shop’s patterns. The seahorses are my favorite.

If you consider knitting a hobby, you need to go see The Five-Year Engagement.

I’m not going to explain why, but just go do it. Trust me.

So today in A&P we were given an extra credit assignment in which we pay homage to a body part. We can pretty much get as creative as we want with it, so I decided HEY, why not knit a body part and bring it to class? One problem though is that the Professor Formerly Known as Hotbutt specifically stressed that we can’t get obscene with it. Bummer.

Obviously my instinct is to knit a uterus. It’s still amusing without being “obscene” and it would come as no surprise to the professor anyway since I already wrote a paper all about birth control and how awesome it is. But I’m keeping my options open, since this is something I might have to present to the class and I don’t really feel like talking to a bunch of youngins about why I love my uterus. They totally wouldn’t get it.

So I’m surfing Ravelry and these are pretty much my best options as far as knit body parts go - a heart, a tooth, and a brain. Probably going to rule out the brain since it looks like a lot of work and this thing is due in a week. The heart or the tooth would be easy enough. But BASICALLY I’m curious if any knitters out there could point me in the direction of more anatomically-based knits. Preferably something that doesn’t take up a lot of time, is cute, and isn’t a penis/vulva/tit/sperm/etc. because as much as I would love to knit any and all of those things and I know the class would find it hilarious, I don’t think prof would be amused. So help me out, knitbros.

Got last night’s skein riding shotgun. First n-plied yarn on a spinning wheel. Need more practice. But, on the whole, not a bad try, I think.

For a second there I thought that strap was a seatbelt and that the yarn was being restrained and that would have just been the cutest thing in the world.

This is legit. I bet it would be super flattering too.

Project “Minus Yarn” is underway. {Thought about making a logo of a cake of yarn with a helmet or a yarn ball that looked like a grenade…but thought, “eh”…}

Here’s a little somethin’ somethin’ I did for the ladies in my life. If you’re a friend & if I catch you soon for lunch, you may be getting a little knitted jewelry frame. Made with love…and extra yarn. :)

This. Is. So cute.

Ooh, I love this. Gorgeous.

If I hear/see one more person say something to the effect of “lol look at me knitting lol i am such a grandma!”

I am going to just go apeshit all over everybody’s asses.

I mean I’m not a genealogist or anything, but I’m PRETTY SURE the only thing that makes you a grandma is if you have kids who also have kids.

You knit. Cool. That doesn’t make you old. It makes you a person who has a hobby. Now shut up.

When I hear people say the word “knitter” out loud, I have to do the hearing equivalent of a double-take since I sometimes mistake it for a really not-great word.

So to remedy this, can we all just call each other knitbutts from now on?

need to knit this.
