13. Bands I want to see live.
Spoon (I don’t know how I’ve managed to go through life without seeing Spoon live), The Avett Brothers, Balmorhea, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, The Mountain Goats, Elbow, and I’m including Ray LaMontagne and Howie Day even though they’re individuals and not bands because it’s ridiculous that I’ve never seen them live.

11. What bands my parents got me into.
Hahahahahaha. Hahaha. ha. haha. I don’t think my mom has ever gotten me into ANY music (she likes the Black Eyed Peas, enough said). Although when I was little and we were living with my aunt I remember listening to Michael Jackson and Prince a lot because it was the early 90s. I also remember obsessively looking at the cassette cover to Billy Joel’s River of Dreams because it had naked people on it.

My dad, however, has gotten me into a lot of the singer-songwriter types. James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Simon & Garfunkel. And, randomly, Yes.

17. A song I dislike from my favorite band.
First I have to decide who my favorite band is, haha. I’ll just go with favorite musician. My least favorite song of Matt Nathanson’s is probably “Detroit Waves.” I don’t know why. It doesn’t really gel with me. It’s weirdly aggressive and I don’t like the title? But the lyrics are solid.
